Management Biographies

Vincent Mouret – Chief Executive Officer

Before joining NemeriX in September 2004, Mr. Mouret was Group Vice President for Marketing and R&D at Wavecom, a developer of wireless and cellular components. He managed international engineering organizations and served as a member of the company's executive committee. Prior to joining Wavecom, Mr. Mouret was Vice President and General Manager of Alcatel Microelectronics Wireless Business Division from 1999 to 2002.

Following a degree in Physics and Electronics from Paris University, Mr. Mouret held technical, marketing and sales positions with Matra Communication, Texas Instruments and Motorola. .

Giampiero Marghella – Chief Financial Officer

Prior to Nemerix, Mr. Marghella held various positions in financial management with Liebert Hiross (Emerson), Bausch & Lomb, Edizione Holding (Benetton) and Ernst & Young.

He graduated in Business Administration at the University of Rome and is a member of the Italian Chartered Accountants Board and Italian Statutory Auditors Board.

Gianmaria Mazzucchelli – VP Engineering

Gianmaria has over 18 years of experience in the semiconductor industry. Before joining NemeriX he launched the Sophia Antipolis (France) R&D center of NewLogic Technologies. As Managing Director of NewLogic he specialized in the development of complex Intellectual Property cores, system on chip devices and software for the wireless market. Prior to NewLogic he held management positions at VLSI Technology (now Philips Semiconductors) where he was responsible for all cordless development.

Gianmaria began his career at Olivetti (Ivrea, Italy) as an ASIC design engineer. He holds a Ph.D. in Solid State Physics from the University of Stuttgart (Germany).

John Elder – VP Operations

John has over 20 years experience in the semiconductor industry spanning both manufacturing and fabless companies.

His experience includes senior managerial positions at STMicroelectronics and Newport Wafer-Fab Ltd. As well as a number of other wafer fab start-ups, John was a founder of Inmos Ltd.

Bijan Mohandes – VP Sales & Marketing

With over 17 Years experience in sales, marketing and applications within the semiconductor industry, and 9 years in engineering design, Bijan comes to NemeriX from Micrel where he served as Director of EMEA Sales and Managing Director of the European Subsidiaries.

Previously, Bijan worked as Business Development Manager, and Applications Manager with Siliconix/Temic (now Vishay). Bijan received a B.Sc. in Cybernetics and Control Engineering from Reading University in the UK.

Dr. Francesco Piazza – Chief Science Officer

Francesco co-founded NemeriX SA in June 2002. Between 1992 and 1999, he worked at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), Zurich, where he was involved in the design of analog, mixed-signal and RF integrated circuits for various communications applications including pagers, GSM mobile phones, and GPS applications.

He has authored or co-authored more than 20 technical papers, many of them for IEEE conferences and journals. Prior to joining ETH Zurich, Francesco developed systems including power supplies, motor controllers, sensor electronics, audio amplifiers and processors. Francesco holds both M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich, Switzerland.

Dr. Marco Cavadini – Director of Applications

During the last 9 years Marco has been involved in research and development of leading-edge digital integrated circuits for low power digital signal processing applications. Starting as a researcher in 1993 and then as a co-founder of NemeriX in June 2002, he has developed a broad range of expertise from system-level to physical level IC design.

Marco is co-author of 6 IEEE and 4 GPS-related publications. Marco holds both M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich, Switzerland and a Diploma in Project Management from UC Beckley Extensions, California.

Dr. Paolo Orsatti – Director of Silicon Design

Paolo has over 9 years of experience in the development and design of low power, low noise complex RF integrated circuits. Paolo co-founded NemeriX in June 2002. He is currently responsible of the RF technology group.

During his research and development work, Paolo authored or co-authored more than 20 technical papers on RF integrated circuits and GPS applications. Paolo holds both M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich, Switzerland.

John Cook – Director of Software

John's extensive software development and management experience includes working on 3G mobile, Bluetooth and DECT projects for companies including Skyworks, Conexant and Marconi.

John has a B.Sc. in Electronic Engineering from the University of Surrey, UK.
